the asteroids - performance

What does ‘owning something’ actually mean? What do ‘having’ and ‘not having’ mean in our world? Why do houses stand empty whilst people sleep on the ground outside them?

How do we determine the value of things? Would it be possible to change that? To turn the eternal chains of (self-)marketing on their head? And does that already constitute a critique of capitalism?

Two performers engage in conversation in whimsical scenes about the absurdity of our world. Drawing inspiration from the stories of the planets in *Le Petit Prince*, we follow the protagonists on their tireless quest for meaning within a system that follows only its own rules.

The artists embark on an open-ended quest through empty, bare spaces, which symbolise desolation and in which they stand out, unnaturally human, in their bright yellow costumes. As always, they ultimately invite the audience to join in the reflection: Let’s send the stars we’ve taken back up into the sky. Let us build new cities. Rules are there to be broken together!
